Playsuit Love | Fashion

Playsuits are probably something that I wear religiously, they’re just so comfortable and easy to wear! Recently, playsuits have been becoming more and more interesting, with different styles, and especially with different prints. Today, I’m bringing out my much loved floral playsuit from Miss Selfridge.
There are two things that make this playsuit one of my absolute favourites. One is the delicate lace trim, which I feel adds some elegance to the outfit. And the second, is the lovely open back detail which gives the playsuit a cheeky, playful feel!
And of course, the floral print is just gorgeous with the mix of bold colours that seem to compliment each other so well and adds a seasonal touch.

James and I are going to this fireworks festival event that’s taking place on our university campus, and this will be the first time that I’ve seen fireworks up close on bonfire night! Is it sad that I’m more excited about stuffing my face with toffee apples and hog roasts, rather than the actual fireworks..?What are your plans for bonfire night tonight?See you guys in my next post, and please remember to follow me over on Bloglovin’ and like my page on Facebook!

Wearing – but not feeling – blue | Fashion

Blue coat from New Look
Last week was such a hectic week for me, filled with work, coursework deadlines, and just trying to fall back into my old routine of university life. However, in the midst of all of that craziness, I somehow managed to come across this beautiful, lightweight coat from New Look.
New Look had a 20% sale when I bought this, on everything. So how could I not take advantage! It’s my go to coat for early Autumn now, as it’s so light and the perfect amount of thickness. I’ve never really owned anything this colour before either, I’m usually a very “black, navy blue, and grey” type of gal’. Having said that, the colour of this is probably my favourite feature!

Coat – New Look (£19.99 – around £17 after discount!)
Dress – Topshop (£25)
Bag – Aldo (£45)
What’s your favourite coat to wear this season?

Suns out..knee high socks out? | Fashion

Yes, we are once again in that awkward transition between Summer and Autumn. You know those days when it’s too cold to go without a jumper, but too sunny for tights? Well I thought I’d mix it up with my outfit by adding a touch of Autumn on to an outfit I’d usually wear in the Spring/Summer.

Light wooly jumpers are the perfect addition to any outfit on a day when it’s just not cold enough to wear a coat. Because I wear a lot of high waisted skirts, and shorts, I love pairing them with this cropped jumper I have on so I can really show off the full design of my skirt (it’s hard to do so when you have a big, baggy oversized sweater on!).

And of course, what Autumn outfit is complete without a pair of wooly knee highs to finish off? Knee high socks add a lovely, girly touch besides from keeping your lower legs all nice and toasty (sorry thighs).

The Autumn Tag

At the moment, it hasn’t felt like Autumn has come yet, so I am still waiting for the crisp breezes and the beautiful changes of colours in the leaves. In the meantime, to get me more into the Autumn mood, I was tagged by the lovely Hayley to do “The Autumn Tag” and what better time is there to do it than in Autumn?

Ok we’re talking coffees – what’s your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero etc?

I’m not much of an experimenter of drinks at all, considering I hate the taste of coffee (apologies to all the coffee lovers out there), so I’m pretty boring but my favourite seasonal all year round drink would be the “Classic Hot Chocolate” from Starbucks. To be honest, the only reason why I chose Starbucks is because of their amazing whipped cream..mmm!

Accessories – what do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves?

Boots, always. For me, there’s nothing that can perfect an outfit more than a pair of chunky boots.

Music – what’s your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?

Like Hayley, Gabrielle Aplin is top of my playlist. Her voice is just so calming, and I swear I can picture people running through autumn leaves when she sings…
And then of course Ed Sheeran, because…well because it’s Ed and he’s amazing.

Perfume – what’s your favourite scent for this time of year?

“Chance Eau Tendre” by Chanel.

Candles – what scents will you be burning this season?

I absolutely love “Autumn Fruit” by Yankee Candle. I know Yankee Candles are absolutely raved about everywhere, but there is literally just a scent for every occasion, and they’re of the most incredible quality.

What do you love most about Autumn?

The colours. Burgundy, red, ochre yellow, gosh I love them all.

Favourite make up look?

I wouldn’t say I have a particular look, but my favourite lipstick to rock out is my MAC lipstick in “Diva”, which is a matte finish.

What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?

Snuggles by the fire, with huge blankets and mahoosive mugs of hot chocolate.

Oh wait, I don’t have a fireplace. So just everything else.

I tag the lovely Georgia, ZoëAmyAimee, and Sarah to do “The Autumn Tag”!
And also any of my lovely readers, and if you do do it, comment below so I can read them!

October Wishlist

I’ve never written a wish list before, so I have no idea if you’re meant to put them at the beginning of the month or the end? But here are a few things I’ve been dreaming of for the longest time, so this October I’m going to set out and get them, or at least ones similar!

Top left to right:

1) Black Patent Metal Snaffle Trim Loafers – New Look (£19.99)

I really want a pair of loafers, to wear with my smart clothes when I’m heading to uni. They’re so simple, yet so classy, especially with the metal plate detail.

Essie is probably my favourite nail varnish brand, and I have fallen in love with their Autumn collection! The one that really stood out for me was this beautiful, dark blue shade, but now looking at the whole of the collection..I want them all.

3) Glasses print bedding set – Primark (£12)

For my second year of uni, I’ve moved out of my halls and into a new house with a double bed! So I’ve been frantically shopping for the perfect bedding, and I came across this super cute set on the Primark website! I find it so adorable, I just have to have it, then I can wear glasses whist lying in my glasses bedsheets and then…glasses overload.

Bottom left to right:

4) Floppy Wool Fedora Hat – Topshop (£35)

I just keep having images of me in a long black trench coat, jet black long hair, red lipstick, and a big floppy wool fedora hat. I need one.

5) High-Waist Denim Mini Skirt – American Apparel (£48)

Lastly, I don’t think I’ve worn a proper denim skirt since I was a pre-teen. I’ve seen quite a few people sporting this skirt, and it’s just tempted me to get one for myself!

What’s on your wish list this October? Do you have any recommendations for me?

Monochrome with a Splash of Yellow | Fashion

Well, today was going to be one of those days where lounging around in pyjamas, and watching soppy chick flicks seemed perfect. But how could anyone stay in on such beautiful weather? It’s still a bit chilly out, but the Sun has made an appearance and my skin is in major need of some Vitamin E!

One of my favourite items to wear this summer has been my beautiful white, tennis skirt from American Apparel, and it makes me so sad that I’m going to have to tuck it away come Winter because I don’t think black tights will work with white? (I could be wrong, we’ll see!) So I took advantage of this sunny weather to wear it out, and matched it with one of my funkier sweaters.

BarryM recently brought out their new AW14 Gelly Nail Paint collection, which I absolutely adore! I’m wearing the shade “Mustard”, and I personally love the bright contrast to the monochrome look, like it’s representing my final farewell to Summer!

Sweater – Topshop (not being sold anymore)

Tennis Skirt – American Apparel (£46)

Topshop Haul | Fashion

Last week, I made the huge mistake of going into Topshop to look for some boots for the soon to be approaching winter. As you can probably tell from the picture above, there are no boots present, which means I (again) have gone and bought things that specifically weren’t on my shopping list. What’s a girl to do eh?

As you know, Summer has officially gone and we have approached the beautiful, but chilly season that is Autumn. I personally love Autumn, because of all the bold and strong colours, especially red and burgundy. However there’s always this awkward transition time between Summer and Autumn, where it can start off really warm and breezy during the early afternoon, but after the late afternoon it becomes dreadfully cold and windy. This calls for the start of light layering! The time to drag out the cardigans and the jumpers, because personally, I am just not ready to start hiding everything under a big, fluffy coat.

Anyway on to the haul:

6) Flower Drop Choker – £6.50

7) 90’s Ring Pack – £14.50

I am absolutely in love with all my purchases, especially the jumper! I have seriously never lounged in such a comfy, warm jumper before. It literally just swallows me up! And I’ve been meaning to get my hands on some chokers for the longest time, so now they will never be coming off my neck.

Are you happy Autumn is here, or do you have another favourite season?

Quick Pasta Salad Lunch! | Lifestyle

Hello everyone!

Just a quick post today after I was super proud of me attempting to make a healthy-ish lunch instead of me going out and getting a KFC bucket!
Now I don’t know about you guys, but sometimes I just can’t be bothered to leave the house and spend ages in a grocery store, scouring the shelves for something to eat! So, I decided to just raid my kitchen cupboards and fridge.

One of the best things about pasta salads, is that you can literally just throw in anything you like, and it will probably taste amazing! My favourite pasta to use for salads is fusilli, because they’re bite sized, easy to eat, and more fun and funky than penne 😉

So after, rummaging around in the vegetable compartment, I grabbed a couple of things to start experimenting with and this is how my lunch turned out!

A can of tuna
Runner beans
Baby corn
1 hard boiled egg
Lime (for dressing)

What are some of your favourite lunches, or things to put in salads? I’d love to hear form you!
Hope you liked this quick post!

Romantic Getaway to Edinburgh | Lifestyle

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know that I went on a short vacation with James to Edinburgh. I’ve only been to Edinburgh once before, and that was years ago when I was about 7 so I was really excited about this trip! The reason why we decided to take this trip is because we were generously given First class Virgin Trains tickets to any destination, courtesy of Virgin Trains themselves. So we just decided to travel as far from London as possible, so we could make full use of the tickets!

After choosing Edinburgh as our destination, we found the most darling cottage which we rented for 3 nights. The cottage was everything and more we could have asked for, romantic, picturesque, and in  the perfect location making it easy for us to walk along the Royal Mile. The streets along the Royal Mile were busy, and full of life, and Edinburgh Castle was absolutely breathtaking. I love how all the buildings seem to be quite old, and traditional which really adds to the beautiful history of this city.
Now prepare yourself for a huge spam of pictures.

I will definitely be returning to Edinburgh one day, as 3 nights surprisingly just wasn’t enough time.We really wanted to go to Arthur’s Seat but unfortunately it was really foggy and misty, so we will leave that for the next time! Thank you for having us Edinburgh 🙂

I hope you all liked this little post, how many of you are from/have been to Edinburgh?
See you in my next post!
